Earth Day Sustainability

This past Earth Day, April 22, 2019, the hashtag #onegreenthing circulated around social media. Some companies donned green attire and took part in a recycling or clean-up project in their community; others shared images of people planting trees or taking part in an urban garden. Secure Records Solutions was a proud participant in Earth Day festivities. We sponsored the first annual Earth Day celebration in Thomasville, our HQ hometown. We offered free shredding to its citizens to recycle their confidential paper items in an environmentally-friendly, secure manner.

While doing #onegreenthing is a great way to honor Earth Day, SRS focuses on sustainability 365 days a year. When SRS was created 15 years ago, our founders aimed to provide business solutions that were not only compliant and secure but that were focused on being as environmentally friendly as possible.

To that end, instead of one green thing, try 2.1 million! That is the number of pounds of shredding we recycled in 2018.

That equates to

  • 18,204 trees;
  • 406,908 gallons of oil;
  • 3,212 cubic yards of landfill space;
  • 4,283,246 kilowatts of energy; and
  • 7,495,680 gallons of water saved.

There are also myriad other ways our solutions positively impact the environment on a daily basis, from helping companies better utilize their business space via centralized document storage to creating a customized workflow plan to reduce a business’s overall paper use.

So if your business is looking for sustainable, secure solutions, don’t wait until the next Earth Day rolls around. Give us a call today, and let’s work together to find a solution that works for you and our environment!
