Sustainable document destruction is a crucial aspect of the service we offer at Secure Records Solutions. It’s no secret that we all need to do our part to protect the environment. Offering sustainable document destruction services is how we at Secure Records Solutions choose to contribute. While Secure Records Solutions is already known for its exceptional document management services, we’re proud to talk about the sustainability initiatives we have in place.

As Earth Day approaches, it’s an excellent time to highlight our commitment to sustainability, particularly in the area of sustainable document destruction. Shredding is an essential service line that helps us keep our customers compliant and protect sensitive data. However, it also provides us with an opportunity to recycle paper.

Recycling for Sustainability

At Secure Records Solutions, we recycle 100 percent of the paper we shred in our secure facility and mobile shred trucks. So, when you shred your documents with us, you are automatically contributing to the company’s sustainability efforts. By working together, we can all contribute to better outcomes for our environment.

In 2022 alone, SRS shredded over four million pounds of paper, and all of it was recycled. That’s a significant amount of paper, and the recycling efforts have impressive outcomes.

Sustainable Document Destruction, Visualized

For example, the 4,175,418 pounds of paper can be visualized by the following metrics:

  • 35,000 trees,
  • 793,000 gallons of oil, and
  • over 6,000 cubic yards of landfill space. (A cubic yard is comparable in size to a large trash can or washing machine.)

This amount of energy is enough to power more than 700 households, or the entirety of a small community.  The recycling efforts saved 14 million gallons of water and reduced air pollution by 125,000 pounds.

We’re Proud to Do Our Part

Not only can we take pride in our recycling efforts, but so can our clients. When they use our sustainable document destruction service to destroy their confidential information, they contribute to protecting the planet and growing their business safely and securely.

If you’re interested in learning more about sustainable document destruction and how you can contribute to protecting the environment, contact Secure Records Solutions today. We can all work together to make the world a better place.
